ABOUT BIG TOP FARMS
In the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountain Range we are located in a unique micro-climate that is creating happy plants. There is something special about the air and the soil in the Central Oregon High Desert. Warm days and cool nights are typical in our relatively short growing season and our sandy volcanic soils allow the plants to stretch their roots and breathe. We have a goal at Big Top Farms to blend the best of science with the best of what nature has to offer in order to create a sustainable environment for our plants that will produce a high-quality product that exceeds our client’s expectations. With regular soil and leaf tests we are able to carefully monitor the micro-nutrient levels and water usage to give the plants what they need, when they need it…with an end result of conserving water and nutrient inputs…and actually improving the overall soil quality and health of the field by the end of the growing season. And of course, we are pesticide free.
Our name, Big Top Farms, says a lot about our company. It speaks to the beautiful mountains that oversee our farm, to the impressive colas that our plants produce, but also to the fun and positive attitude that our families and crew bring to the farm each day...and that yes, some days are a circus. As they say, Attitude is everything, and we believe that having fun and being grateful for the opportunity to work with these amazing plants is a blessing in itself.
